When you are derailed by life circumstances, don't sit idle on a broken track. It is time to dust yourself off, recharge your engine, and redirect your GPS for a new destination.
Regardless of what derails your path, whether it be job loss, divorce, relationship, or a death in the family, you can overcome life unexpected events.
While we know that life is not as simple as just dusting yourself off, it is as much about attitude as it is about technical skills.
Here are a few tips to getting you back on track:
1. Adjust your path. When you face an obstacle, don't give up. Remember, an obstacle is just something we have to go around, go over, or go through. It’s not a reason to quit. So instead of quitting, ask yourself: how do I get around this obstacle? There’s always a solution, if you’re steadfast.
2. Recharge and redirect. You will face derailments every once in a while. That’s a part of reaching your goal— if it were too easy, it’s probably not your life destination. Thus, instead of seeing the obstacle as something discouraging, just recharge and redirect your attitude and continue on your journey.
3. Support for the Journey. You are not alone. There are people on your path that can lend a hand and support you. Ask for help and be willing to take constructive criticism. Your support team will be there to rally behind you, offer encouragement and might be capable of assisting you in retooling your track!
